I've been doing some research into whether or not RAM can be upgraded in laptops and am just unsure as to whether or not it can in mine. Currently it runs with the standard 8 GB DDR4-2400 SDRAM (2 x 4 GB) however int he servicing and maintenance guide an 8GB version is also listed as a viable spare - SODIMM, 8 GB, 2400 MHz, 1.2 v, DDR4 (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06146792.pdf page 40)
Am I right in thinking I can just order 2 of the 8GB RAM modules and upgrade my laptop to 16GB RAM?
Further to this, if this is viable, seen as only 4GB and 8GB modules are listed as parts, is the laptop limited to 16GB of RAM, or could I upgrade it later to 32GB with 2 x 16GB cards?

Hi:
Below is the link to the Crucial, UK memory report for your notebook.
https://uk.crucial.com/compatible-upgrade-for/hp---compaq/hp-14-cf1502sa
According to the report the max is 2 x 8 GB.
Usually if more than that was feasible, Crucial would have listed that.
I am surprised though because usually most notebooks with 8th gen core processors can take 2 x 16 GB of memory.
But when both Crucial and the service manual indicate 2 x 8 is the max, it would be pretty risky on your part to go beyond that.
You may want to consider getting the compatible memory from Crucial as it will most likely be way cheaper than what HP sells it for.
