Hi:

Since your model uses DDR2 memory, that is very expensive to buy in 4 GB capacities.

Crucial doesn't even sell it.

I would look on eBay and see if you can get two used but tested and working DDR2 PC2-6400 4 GB memory modules, because as you can see, buying new exceeds the resale value of your notebook.

This particular set is the cheapest at $98.00

Thank you Paul. I just put in a new SSD and the old laptop is running like new and at that price I think I can live with the 4GB that came in it.

You're very welcome.

If you can find the memory cheap, it would be worth it, but not for $98 bucks!

I have 2 x 4 GB of DDR2 memory running in two of my HP notebooks, and I paid $60 for each pair years ago.

It has never been cheap.

Probably because hardly any notebooks back in the day supported 8 GB of DDR2 memory.

You can buy 2 x 2 GB PC2-6400 memory all day long for a bargain, but not 2 x 4 GB.

It is exactly the same for few desktop PC's that can take 4 GB DDR2 desktop memory modules.
