As I understand you want to upgrade your hard drive and need information about the same,
No worries, as I'll be glad to help you, that said, I'll need a few more details to dissect your concern & provide an accurate solution:
Have you checked your upgrade and service maintenance guide?
Click here to access it, if you haven't checked it yet as it contains the list of hard drives tested and approved to work on your device by HP, here's the list for your ease:
Supports the following single hard drive configurations:
● 1 TB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm
● 750 GB, 7200 rpm, 9.5 mm
● 750 GB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm
● 640 GB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm
● 500 GB, 7200 rpm, 9.5 mm
● 500 GB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm
● 320 GB, 5400 rpm, 9.5 mm and 7.0 mm
That said, any drive either bigger or smaller than the aforementioned size may not work with your device, if you wish to upgrade it as an external (USB) storage you should have no issues, however, any internal changes could be done solely at your discretion.
I hope that helps!
