Hi,
This laptop is really slow as it has a Hitashi 500gb HDD, and 4gb 931MHz memory. I would like to upgrade it a bit, but have some questions.
1. On the product description site it says "Not customer accessible/upgradeable". Does this mean the RAM is soldered on? If not, ill replace that.
2. On the product descritpion site, it does not list a 2.5" SSD, can I still just pull out the HDD and stick a SSD in there?
3. On the product page, it meantions M2 disks. Is there a slot for on the motherboard? In all the teardown videos ive seen iI have never acctually seen the connector?.

Hi:
The memory is upgradable.
Notebooks with the AMD E2-9000e processor have one memory slot that supports 1 x 8 GB of memory.
The "Not customer accessible/upgradeable" statement means that HP wants the work to be done by an authorized service center.
Chapter 6 of the manual has the memory removal and replacement procedure.
HP 255 G6 Notebook PC Maintenance and Service Guide
To the best of my knowledge, the notebook does not have a M.2 slot unless the notebook came from the factory with a M.2 SATA SSD. Open up the notebook can check to make sure the M.2 slot is there before buying a M.2 SATA SSD.
You can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.
HP just didn't offer 2.5" SSD's in the model series.
