HP 14s DK0009AX
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hello there,

i have HP 14s DK0009AX , with existing RAM 4gb DDR4 1866, dual slot. I'm planning to upgrade the RAM with 2x4gb DDR4 2133 or 2666 (higher bandwidth) , since the 1866 mhz is really hard to find.

In HP Maintenance and Service Guide, it stated :

Memory is non-customer accessible/non-upgradeable
DDR4-2400 dual channel support (Ryzen, Athlon processors)
DDR4-1866 dual channel support (A9/A6/A4 processors) -----> this is my processor (using A9)
Supports up to 16 GB of system RAM in the following configurations:
16384 MB (8192 MB × 2)
12288 MB (8192 MB × 1 + 4096 MB × 1)
8192 MB (8192 MB × 1 or 4096 × 2)
4096 MB (4096 MB × 1)

Is it ok to Upgrade with higher bandwidth ?

Hopefully HP official could answer my problem.

Thank You....

Sid.

@sidleung

There are no HP Officials here -- we are all just a bunch of volunteers.

As to using faster memory, that is not an issue because the memory controller will throttle back the memory to work at the proper speed.

I needed to add memory to an old laptop, but no one sells the older 1060 memory anymore, so I bought a stick of 1333 memory -- and not only does it work fine, it also works alongside the existing 1060 memory stick.
