Hi community. I haven't been tech savvy with laptops in years since I really haven't needed one. I recently purchased one, nothing fancy but seemed like a good buy above most at the same price range. I purchased an HP Laptop 14-DK1013DX from Best Buy. I want to know a couple of things.
1) Can I upgrade the RAM? (I'm guessing yes but I'll ask anyway. Lol)
2) What's the highest I can upgrade it to? (I saw someone on YouTube upgrade the DK1003DX model to 32GB)
3) How can I do it myself without voiding the warranty? (From what I've read, I just have to keep the original if I decide to trade it out instead of just adding another)
4) Specs of recommended RAM to use?
If there's anything else I should know along with the upgrading process, please feel free to let me know. Thank you in advance to whomever replies.
P.S. I already took it out Windows 10 Home in S Mode to regular Windows 10 Home. How do I keep the performance going well? No difference yet. I don't really plan on really doing much with it like major gaming, school work, business, etc... I just bought it because I needed a new laptop. My last laptop is at least 10yrs old. Runs on Window Vista and Intel Centrino. Lol.

Hi:
It appears that HP has the old service manual on your notebook model series' support page.
HP 14-dk1000 Laptop PC series Manuals | HP® Customer Support
The manual indicates that your notebook has two memory slots and can support 2 x 8 GB of DDR4-2400 memory, however, I believe your notebook will support 2 x 16 GB of memory.
Your notebook's processor cannot run the memory any faster than 2400 MHz, so installing faster memory will automatically bridge to 2400 MHz.
Run the free utility that I zipped up and attached below to see what spec memory HP installed.
You would want to get one with the same speed.
According to chapter 5 of the service manual, memory upgrades are supposed to be done by an authorized service center, but most folks that want to upgrade the memory do it themselves knowing that if they break something in the process of upgrading the memory, they are out of luck.
