HP Pavilion 11 x360 PC (product number: K4D65EA#AB9)
My laptop is old and pretty slow, as so,
I intend to upgrade my hhd TOSHIBA MQ01ABF050 500 gb to a sdd. is it possible and how should i do it? what driver should i get? (is the Cruxial MX500 250GB SATA compatible?)
about the RAM, is it worth it to upgrade my 4GB memory (Samsung 1333MHz) to 8GB? if so, wich memoy should i get? (could i use a the crucial 8GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM)
THANK YOU!

Here is the Service Manual:
Yes you can replace the 5400 rpm mechanical drive with a 2.5 inch SATA SSD such as the Samsung Evo 860. The Crucial MX series has probably generated more compatibility problems than any other 2.5 inch SATA SSD here. No reason in principle it should not work but it keeps raising problems. No driver needed just put the SSD in place of the hard drive and treat it like a hard drive. Windows 7 and higher know how to activate it as an SSD so no adjustment int he BIOS or anything else needed.
Yes the laptop takes DDR3L-1600 SO-DIMM memory which is downclocked to 1333 mhz by the motherboard. Maximum one single 8 gig module.
Pages 31-47 show installation instructions. There also appears to be an M.2 slot for a "gumstick" type drive.
M.2 slot in purple circle
You could keep the existing hard drive for storage and have a fast SATA-3 M.2 disk for a boot drive. With 8 gigs of RAM it might actually be a competent machine. I will say that the value of the laptop at this point is likely less than these upgrades are going to cost and with the very limited processing power I am not sure how strong you can really make the little guy.
Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if its the info you needed.
