My computer has slowed down and I think that upgrading its memory can speed it up. Can anyone advise me based on the information I provide below?

Current Memory: 8GB DDR3L SDRAM (1 DIMM) comprised of two 4GB Elpida 1600MHz modules.

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6500U CPU @ 2.50GHz

Hi:

 

According to the service manual, the memory is not removable and notebooks in the model series came with either 4 GB or 8 GB of memory.  See chapter 3 for the list of motherboards.

 

HP Spectre x360 Convertible PC (model numbers 13-4000 through 4099 and 13-4100 through 4199) and HP ...

 

If you look at chapter 5 of the manual, there is no procedure to remove or replace the memory.

 

The memory you selected is only for standard desktop PC's and even if you could upgrade the memory, desktop memory would not fit in your notebook as it is much too large.

 

Notebook PCs use SODIMM memory as shown in the illustration at the link below...
