HP pavilion g6-2233sw
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi!

First of all I don't speak english very well, so sorry for errors (I'm still learning). Okay, so I want to change a processor in my old Pavilion g6-2233sw to make it faster and better (I also want to add 4gb of RAM and SSD drive). I know the socket is PPGA988, but I'm not sure which processors will work correctly. At this articule:   https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/bph07139   I've read that i should check my motherboard model and then check which processor will be good for this notebook. Unfortunately at:   https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-g6-2200-notebook-pc-series/5296082/model/5322632   and at lots of websites I couldn't find what is the model of the motherboard in this laptop.

There's two types of PGA988 socket:

Socket G1 / Socket rPGA988A:

http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket%20G1%20(rPGA988A).html

Socket G2 / Socket rPGA988B:

http://www.cpu-world.com/Sockets/Socket%20G2%20(rPGA988B).html

I got G2 socket

You can just write processor, or model of the motherboard. If it's stupid idea to change processor in that laptop just tell it to me.

Processor should be better than: Intel Core I3-2370M, TDP: 35W, Socket: G2 / PPGA988 / rPGA988B

Thank you.

Which ever theory, your machine supports CPU's on a list from page 1 of the following manual (as shown on your link)

And please do not try to re-engineer it.
