Upgrades are done in multiples of the module capacity. From 8 GB the next step is 16GB.
You will need to purchase a pair of guaranteed compatible memory modules for the upgrade to work as expected.
I expect you will want the modules to run in dual channel mode.
Guaranteed compatible memory. Your notebook system is code named Potter. The memory at the Crucial website is compatible with your notebook. Here is the support portal for your HP 15-da0000 notebook series. .
