HP Laptop 17-cn4033cl
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have a question regarding the storage of my laptop, which I can't seem to find the answer to after searching for a while.

My 512GB of storage does not seem to be enough for my projects, games, and videos, so I was wondering if my laptop model has a spare slot for an HDD or SDD before I upgrade my storage.

Hi:

HP only has the service manual for the 17-cn1xxx model series available.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

I doubt the basic configuration has changed other than to include newer hardware.

According to chapter 1, the PC has support for one 2.5" hard drive and 1 M.2 NVMe SSD.

Now, here's the problem...since your notebook only came with a 512 GB NVMe SSD most likely none of the parts are there to install a 2.5" drive.

Chapter 3, page 20 only lists the hard drive cable part number, so you would have to invent a way to securely mount the drive where it belongs, and where you would be able to find the HDD cable part number, I would have no idea.

I don't recommend adding an extra hard drive to your PC.  It will add additional heat and use more battery power.

Better to replace the 512 GB NVMe SSD with one having a greater storage capacity.

Thanks for the info! I'll take it into consideration when finally upgrading my storage.
