Example: Pavilion dv7 3165dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am running an HP Pavilion dv7 3165dx notebook with Windows 10 Professional. I purchased an extended life battery earlier this week and installed it 11/10/16. At first it charged to 26% and stopped, then only to 4% and now it doesn't even recognize the battery and upon running the UEFI program both with the new battery as well as the old, original, battery I seem to come up with the same results, a Failure ID of 9UTQ58-51T89V-XD0021-C09T03. At least the battery light blinks with the old battery but the light stays on for about 3 seconds and goes out upon plugging in the charger with the new battery. Any ideas what I can do to cure this annoying issue?

Is it a genuine HP battery or a "compatible" battery? I think the battery you bought may be bad so your recourse lies with the vendor of the battery.

It's a "compatible" battery but now I have reinstalled drivers and it charges for about 30 seconds and stops and as soon as I unplug it and plug it back in it does the same thing over and over but won't go past 1%.

Thank you for your advice, I have just requested a return item with the ventor. We'll see what happens and go from there. Regardless I do appreciate your input and may God bless you and your family!!!
