Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Here goes, I have the HP OMEN 17 laptop. I also have another HP pavilion laptop. If I plug in my UMIK-1 mic, the reading (correctly) on the HP Pavilion is a -44 db floor reading.

Plug into the newer Omen 17 and the same mic and the floor reading is -59 db and unusable.

 

I've tried uninstalling USB drivers, looked for other drivers to no avail.

 

Trying to install the USB drivers from the HP website result in the best drivers are already installed and I can't seem to get there.

 

I'm stumped
