- Using my Type C drive to charge a Samsung Galaxy Watch

I have two Type C ports on my HP laptop. Either one works with my charger. I have never had any problems with this. However, I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy Watch 6. It has a magnetic charger that connects to a Type C port. I can charge it through my cell phone so I know the watch and charger both work. However, this is cumbersome. It would be so much easier to charge it through one of those Type C ports on my HP laptop. However, my laptop does not recognize the cord when I plug it in and will not charge the watch. The Samsung support staff said they couldn't help me with this.
I have heard that :
1) My laptop is too old to recognize Galaxy watches. It is an old laptop, but it works for my needs.
2) There is a setting to change so the Type C drive works as a charger, but if that's true, I can't find it.
Any advice is much appreciated.

Here is the Manual:
The USB-C ports and the legacy USB 3.0 port all have HP Sleep and Charge so should put out current and allow charging of a cell phone or watch externally. We could mess with this and are willing to try it but one easy solution might be to get a USB-C to USB 3.0 adapter and see if the watch charges from the legacy USB 3.0 port.

Thank you, especially for the link to the supporting document. Unfortunately, this doesn't put me in a better position. I already have all my USB 3.0 ports used and then some. The goal was to use my empty USB-C. The weird thing is, every time I search this, all I get is how to charge the LAPTOP using the USB-C, not the other way around, as if I'm the first person to want to do this. Samsung support staff said they cannot discuss any charging options that does not involve Samsung products. Anyway, thanks for your advice.
