I've got a brand new laptop. Out of the box the fan is extremely noisy even though I'm doing nothing intensive. All I've done is upgrade drivers and bios and it still sounds like a banshee. I had another HP laptop earlier this week which was just as loud - are all HP laptops this loud? is there a way to fix?
If I can't fix the fan speed I'm going to have to return as the noise is unbearable and embarrassing.
Thanks in advance for any help.

@Binson_Buzz Sounding like a Banshee is definitely not normal, and we have a few steps that should help resolve such issues:
- Updating your Notebook computer BIOS
- Keeping notebook air vents clear and clean
- Increasing the efficiency of the notebook to reduce heat
- Using Windows Task Manager to identify corrupt processes
- Selecting power save settings to shut off your computer when it is not in use

Thanks....there's something wrong with the fans on HP laptops or I've got incredibly bad luck. I've ordered two different models within a week that had the same problem. I'd already tried all the steps above, but it's not dirt or a bad process as they both were very loud right out of the box.
Solution? I've returned my 3nd attempt with HP (current laptop is HP and it's never been great) at and bought a Dell.
