Dear HP Support Team,

I am writing to report a serious issue with my HP Victus Gaming Laptop 15-fb0150AX . The right display hinge has broken, causing a significant crack in both the front and back casing. This damage occurred under normal use and was not caused by any physical accident or misuse.

My warranty for this laptop expired on 23-11-2024. The hinge failure occurred just a short time after the warranty ended, which, combined with the numerous reports of similar issues from other users of this model, strongly suggests a potential manufacturing or design defect.

As a student pursuing my Master of Computer Applications (MCA), I need this laptop for my final year project, which begins in September. The unexpected hinge failure has put me in a very difficult and stressful position, as I do not have the financial means to pay for the repair.

I had high expectations for the quality and durability of the HP brand, especially given that this is my first HP laptop. I kindly request that HP take responsibility for this apparent design flaw and repair my laptop free of charge, even though the standard warranty period has recently ended. I have attached photos of the damage for your review.

I trust that HP will work to resolve this issue fairly and promptly. I look forward to your positive response and a quick solution to this problem so I can proceed with my project.

Sincerely,

Thank you for your very quick reply, Kuroi_Kenshi.

I appreciate the suggestion to visit a service center. However, I want to reiterate that my issue is not a result of accidental damage. The hinge failure on my HP Victus 15-fb0150AX appears to be a manufacturing defect, as many other users of this specific model and series have reported the same problem.

As a student, I am depending on this laptop for my final year MCA project, which starts in September. I do not have the financial means to pay for a repair, especially for what seems to be a widespread design flaw. My warranty expired on 23-11-2024, just a short time before the hinge broke.

Can you please escalate my case to a team that handles these types of situations? I am hoping HP will take responsibility for this known issue and provide a solution to get my laptop repaired free of cost.

Thank you for your understanding.

Best regards,

Hi,

Thank you again for your message. I completely understand your concern and the frustration this issue has caused, especially with your studies and upcoming project.

I do want to clarify that your case has been reviewed, and since the warranty for your device expired on 23-11-2024, we are unable to escalate it for a free repair. I truly understand that this is not the outcome you were hoping for, but unfortunately, at this point the only available option is a paid repair through an authorized HP service center.

I really appreciate your patience and understanding. The service center will be able to provide you with a detailed diagnosis and a repair estimate so you can get your laptop back in working condition as quickly as possible.

Thank you once again for bringing this to our attention, and please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help locating or contacting the nearest HP service center.

Best regards,

Hi Kuroi_Kenshi,

Thank you for your reply.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with this outcome. I understand that the warranty for my laptop has expired, but I believe the problem is due to a manufacturing defect, not user-caused damage. This issue occurred within a short period of owning the laptop, which is my first from HP.

This has been a very disappointing experience. I chose HP for my first laptop and expected a product that would be reliable. The fact that I am now facing a significant repair cost for what I believe is a faulty component is unacceptable.

Because of this experience, I will no longer be purchasing HP products and will be sure to share my experience with friends and family. This is not the level of support or quality I expected.

I would like to request that you escalate this case to a manager or a different department that can re-evaluate the circumstances and consider an exception based on the nature of the problem.

Best regards,
