Hi, I have a 2007 DV6920LA laptop, and I'd like to fully upgrade its processor. In this case, it has the original Dual Core T2390. I've looked into the chipset type and compatibility, but I can't find the one I should be sure of. So, let's see if there's a way to fully upgrade by changing the processor to the most powerful one this relic can handle. I'd also like to know if by chance 4GB x 4GB DDR2 RAM will work for it and if it's compatible with 8GB DDR2 RAM. Thanks, I'm looking forward to your reply.

You're very welcome.
Yes, the report you posted shows your notebook has the GM965 chipset which will support the T9500, and yes Core 2 Duo T9500 is the proper name/description of the processor.

You can't do anything to increase the VRAM of the graphics adapter and an eGPU is not supported.
You need a much newer notebook that has a Thunderbolt 3 or 4 port to use an eGPU.
I'm pretty sure that your notebook will support 2 x 4 GB of memory because I have a HP 6910p business class notebook that has the same chipset as yours and I am running 2 x 4 GB of DDR2-6400 memory in it just fine.
None of the manuals indicate that 2 x 4 GB of memory is supported but it works.
I found this post where someone installed 2 x 4 GB of memory in their dv6700 notebook with the same chipset as yours and reported it worked.

Hi:
Run this free utility and let me know what chipset your notebook has. I use the portable version.
Free Download HWiNFO Sofware | Installer & Portable for Windows, DOS
From what I can tell from the part list and doing a search by your PC's motherboard's part number, it should have a Mobile Intel GM965 chipset.
If your notebook does indeed have the Intel GM965 chipset, then the best processor you can install in your notebook would be the Pentium T9500 and yes, you can install 2 x 4 GB of DDR2-5300 or DDR2-6400 memory in your notebook, but the 6400 MHz memory will only run at 667 MHz.
You need to have a BIOS revision of F.45 or newer installed in order for the T9500 processor to work.

Thanks for responding!
Yes, my BIOS is version F.56.

So, I need you to clarify for me if that's really the maximum processor this laptop supports, and also if, according to the photo, you can assure me that I could really upgrade this laptop to 8GB of DDR2 RAM. I'd really appreciate it.
By the way, when you refer to Pentium T9500, it is the one that is called Core 2 Duo T9500 today, right?
Another thing is, I'd like to know if there's any way to increase the storage of the integrated graphics card. I don't know, maybe share more megabytes of RAM with it or something like that, but at least try to increase it.
And in that case, could I connect an external graphics card?
I've seen ExpressCard adapters that output to an external graphics card, and in theory, they "work," so I don't know if that really works. Please clarify this for me and tell me what I could do to at least see if it's possible or not.
Thank you again, I look forward to hearing from you.
