WLAN card replacement

Hi! I'm interested in changing my wlan card with a macos native compatible one.
The bc014nl pdf manual (p. 37) says I have to remove display assembly, HDD, SSD and memory before I can proceed, is that true? Can't I just remove the screw and replace my wlan card withouth removing mentioned hardware?

Is there a whitelist for this laptop? Assumed I have a wlan (wifi+bluetooth) card with the two cable connectors, will it work or do I have to buy an HP one?

There is no whitelist. According to specs you have a 2 x 2 Intel 802.11ac card so you must have 2 antennae. The Manual is accurate about the procedure you must follow. No easy shortcuts, I'm afraid. 

I don't know what a macos native compatible wifi card is so I can't offer much more help.

Page 30 (p. 40 pdf):
These are the instructions to remove the display assembly. In the first picture, 2.1: I see the wifi card right there... the instructions to remove the display assembly tells to remove the wifi antenna's cables, it doesn't seem to be covered by anything (ssd, hdd and memory?!), and it seems I can remove it from there! Am I missing something?

Yeah I think all you need to do is remove the back cover and the wifi card is right there to the left of the memory. Not sure why they say to remove the screen?? I thought you were asking if there was an easy access door like we used to see in the good old days.
