I would like to connect my laptop to the router via ethernet cable and get faster internet. The laptop has 2 USB ports, an HDMI port that I use connect the computer to a TCL flatscreen and smaller video port (unsure what it does. That along with a headphone port are on the right side of the computer. On the left is a port for the power cable and another port that looks like a USB port but I'm not sure. There is no ethernet port (that I can see).
So I would like to connect the computer to my router which has ethernet ports and wireless. I'm using the wireless. It rarely gets above 200 Mbps. My comcast connection is their 300 Mbps service. I had a tech come out and he tested at the back of my modem and yes it was 300. I have a chromebook and an adaptor plugged in to it that has a whole candy store of ports including an ethernet. That gives me near 300 all the time. I think there's a way to direct connect (maybe through one of the USB ports).
Look forward to hearing back
Thanks!!!

Its specs

It does not have RJ-45 port. You can use USB to NIC adapter to connect your machine to your router using VT5e or Cat6 cable. I'm actually using the following adapter for one of my older machine
https://www.amazon.com.au/Anker-Aluminum-Portable-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B00PC07T02
I get faster network connection and 2 more USB 3.0 ports. You can buy a similar adapter with more or less ports.
Regards.

Hi BH
Thanks for the suggestion. I came to the same conclusion after posting here. Went on Amazon and got an adaptor similar to yours.
3-Port USB 3.0 Hub with Ethernet USB Hub, ZACTEK, Supporting RJ45 10/100/1000 Mbps Ethernet Network USB Hub Compatible with iMac MacBook Microsoft Surface Tablet Laptop PC Computer
On my other computer a Samsung Chromebook with all type C ports I have a Swiss Army Knife adaptor from SIIG with an ethernet, 2 USB A's and an HDMI. It works great except it gets hot. Probably doing too many jobs. Anyways thanks 100% for the advice. Take good care and be well.
