HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eh0000 (9WD43AV)

My laptop stop working suddenly whist I am preparing for an assignment to be submitted in a few hours today.
The screen is black, I can hear sound from the mechanism inside and the on light is on but it will not switch off.

The battery light is on as it’s plugged in.
I don’t know what to do as I need to get it started and to recover my assignment so that I am able to complete it for submission today.

Hi @Enece77

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand you're experiencing an issue with your HP device, and I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. I'm here to help you today.

It sounds like your laptop is unresponsive, but there are a few steps you can try to revive it:

Force Restart: Press and hold the power button for about 10-15 seconds until the laptop turns off. Wait a moment, then turn it back on.

Check External Devices: Disconnect any external devices (USB drives, printers, etc.) that might be causing conflicts, then try to power it on again.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
  • Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try to turn it on.

If the issue is not resolved try bios recovery.

Use a key combination:

Turn off the computer, connect the AC adapter, and then press and hold Windows + b while simultaneously pressing the power button. After a couple of seconds, release the power button but continue holding Windows + b.

If the BIOS Update screen doesn't appear, try pressing Windows + v instead.

I hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Please click “Accepted Solution” if you feel my post solved your issue, it will help others find the solution.
