Hi @salhi78

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I understand the concern. If the webcam has disappeared from Device Manager on your HP Victus 15-fb1000 and is no longer functioning, the issue may be related to the camera hardware detection, BIOS settings, or the camera driver.

Please try the following recommended steps:

Perform a power reset:

  • Shut down the laptop.
  • Disconnect the charger and all external devices.
  • Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the charger and start the PC.

Check the camera in BIOS:

  • Turn on the PC and repeatedly tap F10 to enter BIOS.
  • Navigate to Advanced or Built-in Device Options (varies by BIOS version).
  • Ensure the Integrated Camera is enabled.
  • Save changes and exit.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics:

  • Turn off the PC.
  • Power it on and repeatedly press F2.
  • Run the Component Tests available for the camera, if listed.
  • Note any error codes displayed.

Check for hardware changes:

  • Open Device Manager.
  • Select the computer name at the top.
  • Click Action > Scan for hardware changes.
  • Check whether the camera reappears under Cameras or Imaging Devices.

Update BIOS and chipset drivers:

  • Download and install the latest BIOS and chipset drivers for your model from: Link

Restore Windows system files:

  • Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
  • Run:
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  • After completion, run:
    sfc /scannow
  • Restart the computer.

If the camera is still missing from Device Manager and does not appear in BIOS diagnostics, it may indicate that the webcam hardware is not being detected by the system.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
