HP Envy 15-AS133CL
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I have an HP ENVY - 15-as133cl. I have installed windows 10 1903 on it. My Webcam and Microphone works in sound recorder and in Facebook Messenger app. It does not work in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Adobe Audition. It also does not work on any websites that need microphone access like www.onlinemictest.com. On google chrome it shows camera/microphone not authorized/or you need to enable microphone/camera in your settings. I have allowed access to them in google chrome settings and the settings app in windows 10. I believe it is a driver issue because I have reinstalled windows 10 numerous times and when i check device manager it says "Microphone Array (Conexant ISST Audio)" and "Speaker (Conexant ISST Audio)" which looks fine. When i go to properties and check on the hardware id's it displays as "MMDEVAPI\AudioEndpoints" for both the speaker and microphone. I looked it up and it shows MMDEVAPI\AudioEndpoints as a generic driver. I have scanned for hardware changes and even uninstalled and let windows reinstall the devices. I have all the latest updates installed for windows and google chrome. If someone could help me out with this issue that would be great.

I have gone through your Post and I understand your concerns

I suggest you download and run the HP Support Assistant from this Link: https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/hpsupport.html?jumpid=va_r602_us/en/any/psg/p...

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook

  1. Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Updates in the My notebook pane

  2. Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Updates list in HP Support Center

  3. Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

  4. Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

  5. Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

Also ensure Windows is up to date.

Select the Start  button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊
