Hi:

The processors in that model series and in all Intel core notebooks starting with the 5th gen core processors, are integral parts of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded unless the motherboard is replaced with one listed in the service manual that may come with a better processor.

Ok, thanks for such a quick response. What desktop would you suggest that is fully upgradable that is $400-$600 and comes with an core i5 processor(or better). Thanks, Rhett.

You're very welcome, Rhett.

Unfortunately, that I do not know.

I only use the HP Elite business class desktop tower PC's, and those would run well in excess of $500 unless you purchased an off lease one.

For example the model I would be using that has an Intel 8th gen core i5 processor, would be one like this...though I would only be looking for the i7 myself.
