Hello,

My computer model number is E9Z18AV. I would like to find out what RAM Chips are compatible with my computer. I have an extra 4GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600S-9-10-F2 Chip. One source said this was another said it was not. I could not find this on the HP website.

Thanks in advanced,

This is the specified memory from the Manual:

Memory modules (2, PC3L, 12800, 1600-MHz): 2 GB memory module 691739-001 4 GB memory module 691740-001

This is what the 4 gig memory module looks like:

The memory you have is PC3-10600....that is sometimes called DDR3-1333 and it is a 1.5 volt module.

What you need is called DDR3L-1600. That is 1.35 volt memory so the module you have is slower and does not use the same voltage as the correct modules. The memory you have (4 gig module described in your post) should not be installed in your laptop.
