I didn't pay attention to the model of my laptop when I bought it, it was my first laptop and really didn't know what I was doing fully. My 'About Settings' say HP OMEN 15-dc1xxx, and HP's website detection says OMEN HP 15-dc1088wm. I'm trying to upgrade from my current SSD a Samsung MZVLB256HAHQ-000H1. I've seen some that look like they would work, but I'm not sure which one to get.
So what SSD is compatible with my laptop?

Hi:
Your notebook currently has a 256 GB NVMe SSD.
I assume you mean by upgrading it you want one with more storage capacity?
If so, I recommend the 500 GB or 1 TB Samsung Evo 970, depending on your storage needs and budget.
Below is the link to the service manual.

You're very welcome.
Yes, that one will work.
I have a Crucial P5 500 GB NVMe drive in my Dell Optiplex 7050 business desktop PC.
I am very happy with it, but I had to add a heat sink to it because it ran pretty hot.
I doubt you will have that option in a notebook due to the space constraints.
I think if you read the reviews, the Samsung EVO 970 has better reviews.
It will probably run hot as well.
NVMe drives run hot due to their extremely fast read/write speeds.
