Omen 15-dc1006tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

In my warranty one of the deliverables is n-csr battery replace, what does this mean?

I have found very conflicting information online and hp support says it is only valid for business notebooks and not my omen.

Also where can I find hp parts if I have to replace battery myself?

@Ankytrix

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand that the warranty information showing on the website is incorrect. However, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • What are the troubleshooting steps you have tried so far to check battery health?
  • Do you have proof of purchase (receipt) to validate the warranty?
  • Did you make any changes to the settings of your PC prior to the issue?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

1) I can visually see all 4 cells of the battery swollen

2) Yes I have the receipt and the warranty information on the site corresponds to that

3) Nope

I have emailed the escalation team, waiting to hear back from them.

Thank you for posting back.

I would suggest, please wait for the escalation team to respond to your query for a further course of action.

Well the escalation team was useless and stopped responding to me, I opened a new case and this support agent said the N-CSR Battery Replace in my warranty deliverables is not applicable to consumer laptops and said that I had to purchase a new battery.

So I'm just assuming Hp  is misleading customers with false warranty promises.

Well I sure won't be making the mistake of purchasing Hp products again.

If anyone here can help that would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

HP Notebook PCs - Purchasing a replacement battery

If the battery in your notebook computer has lost its capacity to hold a charge, you can purchase a replacement battery from HP.

Test the condition of an HP Notebook PC battery

HP provides a Battery Check tool that you can use to test your battery before ordering a new one.

For more information, see HP Notebook PCs - Testing and calibrating the battery (Windows).

For instructions about how to improve battery performance, see HP Notebook PCs - Improving battery performance (Windows).
