HP ENVY Notebook
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I ran the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics test and recieved this error code: GU42KH-8J199A-MFPUQ1-C09T13.

My serial number is: [edit]

Product number is: Y4A48AV

My battery stopped charging a few days ago, and the only way I can use my laptop is if it's plugged into the wall via the charging cord. I ordered a new battery from Amazon and have used it as of today, and it charged up to 87%. Then I decided to unplug the charger, well my entire laptop went dead, like the previous issues I've been having. I inserted the charger, and restarted the computer trying every possible situation that the HP virtual assistant has told me to do.

Can anyone tell me what is the problem, or what I can do to rectify this?

Right now my laptop reads "12%, plugged in, not charging".

Thank you.

The error code translates to Battery failure. Are you getting that with the new battery?
