The HP recommended hub for the Spectre cannot power my laptop - only 13" ones - due to the power requirements, and the adapter style. My laptop is the Spectre x360-15 df0002na that has a round power supply input at 135W. The HP Spectre Travel hub is very expensive for merely a few sockets out.
All of the hubs i have looked at seem to have horror stories of not working with HP, or working so long as you reboot them frequently, or not being able to use all the sockets at once.
Please, does anyone actually have a hub or docking station that they use with their Spectre 15", and what can you use it with successfully?

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
- Are you referring to the Docking station power hub?
- Is this about purchasing the travel Ac adapter?
- Could you please share the Picture of the HUB?
Keep me posted for further assistance.

I don't have a hub or Docking Station . I would like to have one. Ideally it would have a usb-c connection to the laptop, and ports including 4K monitor (probably hdmi), several USB 3.1 and C ports, ethernet and audio. It would also be able to charge my laptop using that USB-C connection .
When I bought my laptop HP recommended a bundle that included your Spectre USB-C travel dock https://www8.hp.com/us/en/products/oas/product-detail.html?oid=20913124#!tab=features, which doesn't provide power to my laptop. The description has a tiny note #3 with a generic disclaimer rather than actually listing FULLY compatible laptops. There is a grid of compatible laptops that doesn't say incompatible for charging.
The recommended travel dock only has a paltry
- VGA or HDMI,
- Ethernet,
- Single USB 2.0 (how old is that?)
- Single USB 3.0 (not 3.1)
- Single USB-C power in socket.
- Not even one USB-C port
and yet asks for $100.
This problem has been discussed in recent posts here and here. Those threads ended with no useful way forward.
Every Docking Station I look at seems to have problems The HP ones have limited abilities and prices that might be ok if they used up to date ports and were fully compatible. Third party ones seem to have compatibility problems with HP devices, but not with other manufacturers!
I started this thread with a more positive question to try and find an actually capable Docking Station that works with my 4K Spectre x360 15.6. I was trying to save ordering devices and having to send them back because they don't work or mislead on their capabilities.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details)
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

What I want is for a real user of the product to help with advice of what they have found successful.
The HP special teams can only tell me that HP's own hub/docking station options cannot charge my HP laptop.

I'm so sorry that I didn't respond to you earlier. The answer is that I never found a fully compatible hub. In the end I bought this one on amazon. It isn't available now, but there are several that look exactly the same.

It plugs into either USB-C socket, and I can use it to display on a 4k 32" hdmi screen plus a 1920x1200 VGA screen. It connects a USB A logitech unifying plug that connects my keyboard and mouse. The headphone socket connects to speakers on my desk. The ethernet works. I've also connected a USB flash drive, and a Wacom digitiser, and my camera to download photos.
It doesn't charge the laptop, and in fact the laptop charges it, so leaving it connected on battery power adds to the drain of sleep mode.
It isn't thunderbolt. Windows warns me that it may not provide all the connectivity expected (I can't remember precisely and my Spectre is back with HP for the second time).
