Hello. I recently got a Laptop. An HP G62. I have heard great things about G62s. One thing though, I want to upgrade the CPU, and I have a problem. I cannot find the motherboard model / name in the G62. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
The motherboard in your system is
PCA UMA system board with modem and card reader 592809–001
You can see on page 76 of service manual:
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02641795
On page 1 you can see the various processors compatible with your system.

It is a G62-347NR model number. Has an AMD Athlon II P340 CPU
Possible processors are listed on p. 1 of the Manual here:
This is the most powerful processor it can take:
AMD Phenom II N970 Processor (2.2 GHZ 2 MB L2 cache 1333MHz)-Quad core
