I have tried charging my HP Victus 16 via the USB-C port with mixed results. According to the manual, it is possible with up to 100W using USB-PD. I have meticulously checked the ratings and have three adapters that support the charging of it in some capacity: A Baseus GaN2 charger, a docking station within a LG 49WQ95X-W and an Asus Zenbook adapter. But of these three, charging only works with the Asus Zenbook adapter. I saw another thread on here where someone said it worked with an adapter from HP. Does it work only with HP adapters, or is it e-marker chips or something entirely different?
HP support has been less than helpful and really just been wasting my time trying to convince me the adapters are the problem (despite them working with any other device), that USB-C charging isn't possible (despite it working with one specific adapter), sending me to random internal support departments that were even more confused than me when they received my call, or generally just closing my tickets without announcements and being unreachable.

According to that specification it suggests as you said. But on the other hand, it mentions USB-PD on the port specification, the seller (NBB) I received it from also said that according to their information it is supported, the manual lists a table with DC input power specifications for USB-C and I can already charge the laptop using USB-C, just with a specific adapter. If USB-C charging wasn't possible, it shouldn't be possible for me at all.

Sorry, did I say you need higher wattage rating chargers to be able to charge. Lower wattage rating chargers may charge your machine when OFF or IDLE.

As per my last post, I have multiple chargers with the same high wattage. The Asus charger supports up to 20V @ 5A, the Baseus GaN2 charger also supports up to 20V @ 5A. Also, could you please specify what you mean by idle? Suspend, hibernate, suspended GPU, low performance power profile?

You chargers ONLY supply 100W. I did say you can charge your machine when it is OFF or sitting IDLE.
Hope this makes sense now.
Regards.

I should have mentioned this earlier, but the Asus 100W charger worked fine while the laptop was turned on and running, so it can't be required to have it off or idle. Also could you please specify what you mean by idle?

Normally Idle means machine is ON but does not do any work (sleep is one example).

I understand. I received a FNB58 today and measured all the chargers I have available. As it turns out, the docking station only charges with 90W at most and the Baseus GaN2 Pro charger is a complete scam that charges at most 63W with APDO. So despite the manual stating the contrary, you may be right on the 100W thresholding. I will get a hold of more chargers and test them as well to make sure.
