HP ENVY Notebook - m7-n101dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've had this computer for 5 years, I am negatively surprised that the keyboard started failing so soon. First backspace, then delete and +,= keys started to fail as well. I reassigned backspace to prt scr and F12 keys, not sure if that is what's causing other keys to fail.

But anyway, I decided to replace the keyboard myself and need help to choose the right replacement part.

Please let me know how to choose a new keyboard, please let me know how to search for it so it's compatible without a shadow of a doubt. I plan to replace it myself, since repair shops take too long to do it.

On a side note, here's my frustration with HP. When I opened the computer to install a new SSD (HD), I found that the person who assembled this computer snagged one of the screws (I have pictures to prove it!!!! I am deeply mad at this, I will not be able to replace the keyboard without breaking this screw or the piece that it's attached to). I can send pics if you want prove.

But, my most important question is the keyboard specs that I need to buy to replace this. I thought I could live with it, but at times it drives me crazy. This keyboard always sucked to be honest, the space bar often times doesn't register if I don't hit it hard, from the beginning.

PS Any chance i can get a compensation for the defective/snagged screw that secures the CD ROM drive?

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Please please please ask them to do this fast, there are times that I need to smack the **bleep** keyboard for the keys to work.

And what's worse, I use this laptop to work remotely, IT'S HELL. Worst keyboard ever!!
