I know standard adapters, I've got 20 or so of them from many different brands. They all perfect fit to standard card readers. I will ask HP to confirm the series.
Regards.

Not yẹt
Answer 1:
I have actually seen people forcing the adapter into the port instead of gently.
Once the port is damaged, it is useless.
Has the member tried using the microsd card with the adapter in a different laptop?
Answer 2:
That looks more like a smatcard reader, I have one on my Zbook. Not for data cards, for authentication.
Forget above, display on phone not clear enough to see the little SD on the side.
Regards.

Before going out to buy an external card reader, have to tried to use
1. A standard full size SD card on that slot ?
2. To use Adapter on different machine ?
Very strange HP did not include SD card reader on the previous series. I've got 2 HP machines which do NOT have SD card reader namely an HP 840 G5 (nearly 6 years old) and an HP zBook Firefly 14 G10 (8 months old).
I have to use external reader on both, specially the zBook because my plan is to use it as my photos/videos editing machine to replace my HP Omen 15-dc0071tx (I bought the same time with my 840 G5), this machine does have SD card reader.
Regards.
