I have two HP computers I am wanting to upgrade to a SSD drive. Can you tell me the type of SSD and the max that can be supported?  I believe they both need m.2 nVMe, but unsure of size they will accept.

One model is HP Envy x360 15t aq000 and the other is HP Envy x360 15t aq100.

Manual

I don't know what are in your machine now BUT from manual  page 2 they do NOT support Dual storage therefore they only have 2.5" SATA-3 SSD OR 2.5" SATA-3 HDD not both.

You can replace it normal HDD with new 2.5" SATA SSD such as

I know that isn't true on the aq100 as it came with sata m.2  2280 128gb ssd and a 1tb hdd.  I still have the spec sheet and opened up, do that is what is installed. The ssd failed so wanted to put in a bigger one.  Hdd still seems to be functional.

I am not sure about the aq000 as I bought used with just a hdd. Have not opened to see if it will accept dual storage like my aq100.

Hi @LeighJ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP Envy x360 laptop typically accepts M.2 solid-state drives (SSDs) for storage expansion. The specific size of the SSD that it can accommodate depends on the model and variant of the laptop, as well as the availability of different configurations.

However, most HP Envy x360 models support M.2 2280 SSDs, which means they can accept SSDs with a length of 80mm (or 2.8 inches) and a width of 22mm. This is a common size for M.2 SSDs, and it should be widely available in the market.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
