First one is HP Support Assistant. This will search the computer and HP servers for drivers you are missing and install most of them. If you do this and are still missing any drivers post back and we can help you find specific ones:

That's fairly hot. Can you post a shot of Device Manager? Driver page:

Per this response I bought a Samsung 960 EVO for my HP Envy X360 model 15t-w200. When I install it with or without the IDE drive that came with this laptop the boot locks up solid. I have checked that it has the latest BIOS/firmware.
Is there anything I can do buit throw away the $80 for the SSD drive?

Are you making the SSD your primary or secondary drive? I upgrade mine a while ago but I remember that the laptop came preconfigured with two drives. I upgraded the lower capacity primary SSD with this Samsung SSD. No special drivers were needed. However, I had to boot from an external DVD so that I could install Windows 10 on the new drive. The setup process was able to see the drive no problem.
How far in the boot process do you get? are you able to get into BIOS? Make sure the SSD chip is properly seated.
