According to HP specs for 16-d1000 series below, your model supports max 32 GB (2x16 GB) DDR5-4800 MHz memory.

You can click the link below and run the wmic command to see the max RAM capacity your system can take.
2 Steps to Check Maximum RAM Capacity of Your Computer
If it reports 32 GB, 2x16 GB DDR5-4800 is supported. If 64 GB, 2x32 GB is supported.

The wmic command reported 134,217,728 KB
134217728 KB/1024 x 1024 =128 GB
Intel specs indicate your processor supports max 64 GB (2x32 GB), so 128 GB may not be accurate.

Crucial reports that16-d1000 series support max 64 GB (2x32 GB). Perhaps, this is the max RAM capacity for your model.

Actually 128GB seems to be accurate, meaning that the max ram limit is NOT less than 2x64GBs (although it could be more). This old discussion -more than 3 years ago- about this Alder Lake series (also with the assistance of Paul_Tikkanen EXPERT Level 22) showed that the SMBIOS DMI data for max ram is 128GB AND it also confirmed that 64GB of DDR5 will work, albeit with some small side effects: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/SOLVED-Maximum-upgrade-options.... Personally, I wouldn't go into the trouble of upgrading any modern system to anything less than 64GBs, because it wouldn't be long until I would have to repeat the whole process...
I'd just like to point out something here. The wmic command that reads the SMSBIOS DMI section is not some magic crystal ball that makes the motherboard "fess up" about what the maximum memory it can properly work with is. In reality, this data is just values entered by HP's BIOS coders. It could be correct, but many times it just reflects the data in the manual and simply describes what RAM modules HP offered for the specific series. For example here is a top-tier Omen where the wmic command gives 32GBs as the max -nothing could be further from the truth: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Does-my-OMEN-17-3-quot-Gaming-....
In the case of the Alder Lake Victus 16-d1000 series, HP has entered an interesting value, since both the 12500H and the 12700H OFFICIALLY support only 64GB. However, users have found out that the official Intel value is not actually a hard limit, but they can upgrade RAM above that -way above that. I have talked about this here (last paragraph).
For example, this is a Victus 12500H sold on the HP Store: HPStore.com.tr (Victus 16-d1048nt)
which was then upgraded to 96GB RAM and sold on Amazon.com.tr (16-d1048nt 96GB)
Another example is this top-tier Omen with a 12700H CPU on the HP Store: HPStore.com.tr (Omen 16-k0008nt)
again sold with an aftermarket upgrade of 96GB on Amazon.com.tr (16-k0008nt 96GB)
The Munich-based CompuRAM, manufacturer and seller of memory modules, on its page for the Victus 16-d1000 series has a 2x48GB DDR5 kit that is compatible. There are other RAM manufacturers that sell these kits, even if they don't give a guaranteed compatibility for this system. If one were willing to upgrade the 16-d1000 to 128GBs, they should use the new Crucial 2x64GB DDR5 kit. HP owners have tried it on other -seemingly unsupported- gaming laptops and it worked well. Since more and more of the RAM makers are producing DDR5 modules of increasing capacity, I expect we'll be seing some giving assured compatibility for 128GBs to this Alder Lake Victus series.
