Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The warning message you’re seeing when pressing the F3 or F4 keys is likely related to the HP Hotkey Support application, which manages certain function keys on HP laptops. Here’s how to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:
1. Update HP Hotkey Support
- Check for Updates:
- Open HP Support Assistant (if installed) and check for updates for your system, particularly for the HP Hotkey Support application.
- Alternatively, you can download the latest version from the HP support website.
2. Reinstall HP Hotkey Support
- If updating doesn't help, you might want to uninstall and then reinstall the HP Hotkey Support software:
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
- Type appwiz.cpl and press Enter.
- Look for HP Hotkey Support in the list, right-click it, and select Uninstall.
- After uninstalling, download and reinstall the latest version from the HP support website.
3. Check Keyboard Settings
- Ensure that your keyboard settings are correct:
- Go to Settings > Devices > Typing and check for any settings related to keyboard shortcuts or function keys.
4. Disable Hotkey Support (if not needed)
- If you don’t use the hotkey functions, you can disable the HP Hotkey Support feature:
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc).
- Go to the Startup tab, find HP Hotkey Support, and disable it.
- Restart your computer to see if the warning goes away.
5. Perform a System Restore
- If the issue started recently, performing a system restore to a point before the problem began can sometimes resolve software-related issues:
- Type "System Restore" in the Windows search bar, select Create a restore point, and then click System Restore. Follow the prompts to select a restore point.
6. Check for Windows Updates
- Ensure that your Windows OS is fully updated, as some issues may be resolved through system updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
