TouchSmart 15-r264dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HP Notebook - 15-r264dx TouchSmart (ENERGY STAR) - Will not power on. After dissasembling it, I found that the connection between the small board containing the power button and the 4 wire ribbon cable that leads back to the motherboard was broken. I tried to fix it by pressing the four wires onto their contacts, and pressing the power button then. That did not work, probably indicating that once the connection is broken, it cannot be put back. So I either need to find a fix for that, or purchase a replacement part. The part is: TMT YA-4A1  54V-0  E114139 (It would need to be both the power button chip and the ribbon cable, connected.)

 

ps. The computer works aside from the power button malfunction, as I touched two of the contact wires in the ribbon cable together and it turned on. Also, I do not know whether it is a 64 bit or 32 bit, but I doubt that will have any weight on the solution.

Vendors now only sell the whole part. Please check the following list which shows all availabe parts for your machine:

If you only needed a small piece, you may have to buy whole part or working out part for that piece and search on eBay.
