I want a laptop with the specifications of the HP 15q-dy0007au:
- backlit keyboard+numeric block
- a hard drive of 1 TB, or 1000GB, 5400rpm or 7200 rpm
- optical drive
- 2 memslots
- 15'' screen
- HDMI
- RJ45
- minimum 3 USB slots, 2.0 or 3.x
- sd-card reader
The keys on the keyboard should include an INSERT key, but that's not a deal breaker.
It seems this particular model is only available in the country of INDIA, but it's hard to order there. I am baffled a model with these specs is NOT available in the US, UK or EU. They don't seem all that exotic to me, but perhaps that's just me.
What would be really helpful, is, on the HP site, a search page where we can filter on the above features, especially BACKLIT KEYBOARDS and optical drives. However, the site is rife with useless filters like "gaming", "business" or "light surfing". HP is now anti-power users, which is remarkable.
Thank you!

I don't have a solution but an observation. Most people want smaller laptops and optical drives simply do not lend themselves to that. If you look at the industry as a whole, the optical drive is nearing extinction. As well RJ45 connectors occupy a lot of real estate and most people use wireless with laptops and USB network connectors work great. It is near impossible to make a laptop to the size most people want to carry around and include everything.
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.

This isn't a very useful observation. It's a little insulting.
It's like you saying, after I asked for rare gems: "Oh, rare gems are hard to find. Please thank me if you think that's a useful observation"
If this was an easy find, I wouldn't come here asking about it. But since you reacted......Bless your heart!
