My system goes to read-only mode automatically. I tried to fix it using fsck, but it only temporarily fixes the problem. I think my hard disk is failing.
I want to replace my hard disk, could you please suggest me which hard disk is compatible with my device?
Please tell me one HDD with 500gb storage and one SDD with 256 - 500gb storage. I will choose one out of these.

Your Service Manual:
See pp. 2-3 and then 60-62. You do not have hardware for an M.2 "gumstick" type disk so you need a 2.5 inch SATA HDD or SSD 9.5mm or 7mm thick:
This would be a low cost replacement mechanical drive:

Yes your laptop is covered by that Manual. HP has posted that manual on the homepage for your model series:
