Hello, I recently bought a brand new HP laptop in the Netherlands. My laptop doesn't have a product name, it seems to have a model number that is unique to the retailer in the Netherlands (each retailer seems to have unique model numbers). However, I found out that this is the datasheet from HP for my laptop: http://h20195.www2.hp.com/v2/getpdf.aspx/c06460420.pdf
It is in Dutch but it seems to be incorrect. On page 2 it says (translated to English: "Charge your device from connect to an external display via just one USB-C ™ Thunderbolt ™ port with a data rate of 40 Gb / s."
However, on page 3 in the tech specs it says "1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C ™ (data transfer, signaled speed of 5 Gbit / s)"
I believe that this USB-C port does not in fact support Thunderbolt. The reason all this is important to me is that I want to hook up the laptop to two external monitors, one through the HDMI port and the other using a USB-C hub with HDMI output. I bought this connector but it does not work - no video is sent through the HDMI port of the USB-C hub to the external monitor.
So my question is: what kind of USB-C port do I have, and secondly can I connect an external monitor through the USB-C port that I have using some kind of adapter/hub or is just not possible?
Thanks for your help,
Faarmer

The full specs is
https://support.hp.com/za-en/document/c06507296
It has 1 USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C™ (Data Transfer Only, 5 Gb/s signaling rate) port. My simple answer for this port: it is hopeless and you can't connect to an external monitor using this port unless paying more to get an adapter/dock.
Regards.

Hi Banhein, thanks for your reply, much appreciated! Do you have an example of an adapter/dock that could be used to output video through the USB-C port on my laptop. It's very confusing. Would this one for example work? https://store.hp.com/NetherlandsStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=2PC54AA&opt=ABB&sel=ACC
