Notebook 15-ay071nr(Touch) (Energy star)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My laptop was purchased back in 2017. Here’s some info on it:

Serial: [Private information removed]

Product: X0H81UA#ABA

Model: 15-ay071nr

My laptop will not charge. I plugged it in before I went to bed but I woke up and it wasn’t charged. So, I took a day to watch the laptop while it charged. It never charged.  Then, a black screen with white letters popped up. I didn’t get to see all of what it said but I do believe it said something about my battery or power adapter. I went to the HP virtual assistant which told me to get a new power adapter. I don’t know which one though. Here’s what I found on the brick of my adapter:

Replace with HP spare: 741727-001

HP part No. : 854054-002

Regulatory Model: HSTNN-CA40

Wide range input: 100-240V - 1.4A, 50-60Hz

Output: 19.5V  2.31A 45W

I don’t know if I should get an HP adapter or one that I’ve found on Amazon.

Hi:

I think it is best to get an original HP power adapter.

If you can't find a new genuine HP one on eBay, I recommend that you find a used but tested and working genuine HP adapter on eBay by searching by either part number.

741727-001 | eBay

854054-002 | eBay
