Which size of HDD(2.5" or 3.5") may I install on my notebook hp pavilion gaming 15-ec1013ur?

Laptop disk drives are all 2 1/2 inch.  The larger ones are only for desktops and towers.

Most likely since your notebook came with a 256 GB M.2 SSD, none of the parts are there to add a 2.5" drive.

So, before running out and buying a 2.5" drive, make sure the required parts to add it are there, or that you can find a place to buy them.  Many times the parts are impossible to find.

 

Below is the link to the service manual.

 

Chapter 3, page 19 has the parts needed to add a 2.5" drive.

(2) Hard drive brackets not available as spare part
(3) Hard drive connector/cable            L72698-001

 

It would be a whole lot easier and would also save battery power to just replace the 256 GB SSD with one having a larger storage capacity.
