Hello everyone,,

So , i have finally found a M2 SSD slot in my laptop but the problem is that i can't determine if this a M2 Nvme or M2 sata ..

As you can see from this picture , there is the word "SATA" written near the slot on the mainboard, but if you take a good look inside the slot itself , you can see only one divot which fits with M2.Nvme !

Because as you know, a M2.Sata SSD has 2 divots .

So I'm now confused: is this slot : nvme or sata ?

Thank you all...

SATA only, sorry. M.2 is the type of slot. All M.2 slots have 2 chambers and look alike. A B + M (2 divots as you say) or M only (one divot) keyed SSD can fit correctly in any M.2 slot but only if the motherboard is configured to accept NVME will an NVME M.2 SSD be recognized by the system. To complicate more, some NVME are B + M so you absolutely cannot tell anything by just counting the divots.

Yeah there are many but if you have to pick I usually recommend Samsung 860 Evo or Western Digital Blue:
