Hello,

I want to upgrade my laptop by connecting a M.2 nvme ssd along with the 2 tb hdd which comes pre installed. Can anyone help me in figuring out if my laptop supports nvme ssd by default, and what is the maximum limit which is supported by it. Also, if I want to install the ssd in place of my cd drive. What type and how much storage in ssd I can install.

Here is the Service Manual:

Manual

On the 15-cc1xxx series NVME M.2 SSD is supported. Page 49 has a good picture of the location in the lower right corner as the laptop is turned over with rear cover removed for service. There is no capacity limit. 2 or even 4 TB would work even though not listed in the Manual. An SSD in a DVD drive caddy is not a good idea. Transfer speed is slow and likely would not be bootable.

Post back with any more questions and please accept as solution if this is the info you needed.

Please start your own thread so that the thread will be about one specific model. Otherwise it gets confusing to others who see this
