Hi @CMC2023,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand you’re sensing current leakage when your PC is charging. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this and how to address it safely.

Check the wall outlet and grounding
Plug the charger into a properly grounded wall outlet.
Ungrounded or faulty sockets are the most common cause of tingling or leakage sensations.

Try a different power socket
Connect the charger to another wall outlet in a different room if possible.
If the issue disappears, the original outlet likely has a grounding or wiring problem.

Inspect the charger and power cable
Check the adapter, cable, and plug for any damage, fraying, or loose connections.
A damaged charger can cause leakage current and should not be used.

Use only the original or certified charger
Ensure you are using the original charger that came with the PC or an HP-certified replacement.
Third-party or low-quality adapters can cause improper grounding and leakage.

Test while connected to different surfaces
Place the laptop on a wooden or insulated surface instead of metal or stone.
Conductive surfaces can make leakage more noticeable to the touch.

Check extension cords and power strips
If you are using an extension cord or power strip, plug the charger directly into the wall instead.
Some extensions do not provide proper grounding.

Update BIOS and power management firmware
Install the latest BIOS and firmware updates for your PC model.
Firmware updates can improve power regulation and reduce electrical anomalies.

Observe when the sensation occurs
Note whether the leakage is felt only while charging and disappears on battery power.
This helps confirm the issue is related to grounding or the charging adapter.

I hope this helps.
