Where are the BIOS update files for the HP Compaq 6005? It is unacceptable for a company like HP not to make the software available for old computers.
Or got old have throw in the trash?
Don't get me wrong, but throwing away a computer just because it's old and the company doesn't provide it "as it should" is unacceptable!

I found some BIOS files listed under Windows 7. Here is the newest
Since you are running Linux, you will need to explore the options on how to install, since you cannot actually install from Linux.
Investigate the F10 Set up utility for the Business class machines, instructions noted in the BIOS files. You will need to open the BIOS download with a utility such as 7-Zip to see all of the goodies included. There is a note about making a BIOS CD to run from the F10 setup.
I'm not an HP employee.
