Hello,
On my HP Pavilion 15-b142ef Sleekbook laptop, I would like to replace my wireless network card with this one:
-Intel AX 201
Or
-Intel AX210 NGWG
This replacement is provided by means of this :
M2 adapter to PCI-E
Would the motherboard or the bios be able to detect these types of new cards?
Thanks.

You're very welcome.
Since your notebook has an Intel processor, I would try out the Wi-Fi 6 E HMC PCie card on Amazon.
It would be a direct swap with no modifications of any kind needed.
I don't know what the different diameters of the Wi-Fi antenna wire connectors are.
All I know is that the ones in your notebook are way too big to connect to the very, very, very tiny connectors an M.2 Wi-Fi card has.
I have replaced HMC and M.2 Wi-Fi cards before, so I know your notebook's antenna wires are huge compared to those used for a M.2 Wi-Fi card.
You wouldn't think that it would be possible to make a smaller antenna coupling, but they found a way.
Very difficult to work with.

Hi:
I can't find any specs on your notebook.
If it doesn't have an Intel processor, there is very little chance an Intel AX 210 wifi card would work--even an Intel 7260 AC HMC card wouldn't work.
I doubt anyone could tell you for certain that such a device will work, but what will you do for the antenna wires?
The antenna wires in your notebook have much larger connectors on a HMC Wi-Fi card, than they are on a M.2 card such as the Intel AX210.
I suggest you set your sights a bit lower and upgrade to this card which should work in your notebook regardless of what processor it has. No need for adapters, or any modifications.
Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo HP part # 724935-001
You can probably find the above model card on eBay. Search by the HP part number.
If your notebook has an Intel processor, they actually make some modified Wifi 6E HMC cards.

Thanks for your reply.
My laptop comes with an Intel I3 processor. The antenna wires on my board have Ipex U-FL connectors (2mm diameter) but I don't know what type of connectors are present on this one and how to know the diameter?
that you indicate to me and that I had also noticed.

Hello,
My 6E wifi card was installed and fully recognized including bluetooth. I had doubts before purchasing, given the various negative feedback. I took longer to disassemble the notebook than installing the card alone. The performance gain is notable, nominally, I go from 433 mbits to 866 mbits, even at a distance of 6/7 meters from the access point. Thanks again for your advice.
