Hi:
This is a peer to peer forum and none of us are authorized to speak on behalf of HP regarding the warranty terms.
Generally speaking, you will not void the warranty unless you break something in the process of upgrading the SSD, or if there is a seal on the notebook that indicates the warranty will be voided if you break the seal.
You may also have to return the notebook to its original configuration...in other words, you would have to put the current SSD back in and remove the one you installed before you ship the notebook to a HP repair facility.
HP will not warrant the SSD you install.
