ProBook 4540s
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After entering the serial # for my laptop on hp.com, no Windows 10 drivers are offered for the JMicron Media Card Reader.  I used the one for Windows 8.1 (sp57014) with no errors, but has a later driver been released?

Hi:

Not to my knowledge.

I give the W8.1 driver to all that need it.

FWIW, there is a newer W8.1 sp63637 file from the Elitebook 8570p which uses the JMicron card reader.

1.0.76.1    Aug 30, 2013

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp63501-64000/sp63637.exe

After the 4540s, 8x70p/w notebook series, HP went with the Realtek card readers on future models.

Thanks for the newer driver and the explanation. It's always nice to know why things happen the way they do.
