HP Pavilion Power - 15-cb045wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought a Toshiba 256GB SSD to use as the main system drive for faster performance but I somehow can't get windows 10 to be installed on it. Windows installation media always can't find the required drivers for the SSD for windows installation to continue. It says load drivers and I've tried all Intel Rapid Storage technology drivers found on the laptop's official hp drivers download page but none fixed the problem. When I boot into my already existing windows on the HDD, the SSD works fine.

I need help with this.

Hi:

Use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall W10, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...you will need a 32 GB USB flash drive to create the recovery media with.

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Customer Support

After you create the media, temporarily disconnect the 2.5" drive, and use the cloud recovery tool to install W10 on the SSD.

Check to make sure the SSD boots up into Windows, and if it does connect the 2.5" drive back up, format it and use it for storage.

HP Recovery Tool is stuck on initializing?

What do I do?

HP Recommended

Unfortunately, that I do not know.

Okay

Thanks anyway.

So, the HP cloud recovery tool was stuck because my internet connection was not good. I switched to a stronger internet connection and it was able to complete successfully.

I'm glad to say your solution worked and Windows is running on the SSD at the moment.

Thanks a lot.
